Minsan lang dumating, minsan isang panahon

Ngunit sa paglisan ay may bakas na naiwan

Sa paglipas ng mga araw, sa pagdaan ng taon

Pilit mang ibaon, mga alaala'y lumilingon

Isang maikling pagkakataon, ngunit dala-dala hanggang sa paglipat ng mga dahon

Nagsimula sa pagbaba ng liwanag ng bituin

Kumislap-kislap sa pagkamit ng ningning

Lumitaw ang tuwa at umagos ang luha

Yumakap sa lupa, naki-isa sa bulaklak

Sumipol ang hangin, nakarating sa alapaap

Dinala sa itaas ng bundok, sa ilalim ng ulap

Sa paghuni ng ibon, umugong ang halakhak

Isang araw, may bagyong dumating

Nakakayanig, 'di malaman kung saan nanggaling

Natitirang dahon ay tinangay na bigla

Ang bituin at bulaklak ay napatulala

Pagpatak ng ulan, 'di magawang pigilan

Humampas sa bintanang 'di makapagsalita

Kumilimlim, mga halaman ay nanlamig din

Sa pagbagsak ng bulaklak, bumulagta sa lupa

Nanatili ng maraming araw, pabagu-bagong panahon

Minsan malakas, minsan wala, minsan nakakapanghina

Sa pagsikat ng araw, muling sumibol ang halaman sa hardin

Ngunit sa gabi, hinahanap-hanap ang nawalang bituin

Inaaninag, ngunit sa tayog ay 'di makapa

Sa kapal ng ulap, 'di sapat ang pagsulyap

Umikot ang mundo, lumakad ang buwan

Walang kaliwanagan, at makitang kongkretong daan

Naghintay ng paghampas ng alon sa dalampasigan

Anupa't muling nasilayan si Haring Araw

Ngunit kabaligtaran ang idinulot sa kapaligiran

Kasabay ay ang pagkalanta ng nag-iisang dahon sa halamanan
